My goal is to make your PCB as reliable as possible while making minimally invasive repairs. Parts known to fail often may get updated to prevent future issues. My test cycle is typically 6-7 days long (depending on the repair) to ensure reliability. I’ve fixed many ‘unfixable’ boards.

If expensive components are needed or many parts or components in the $7-8+ range (CPU’s, DACs, Bitslicers, POKEY’s or custom chips) I will let you know they are bad (no surprises) and if there may be additional charges.
On occasion I get fully working boards (i.e. someone has a bad monitor or power).. I’ll let you know and you just pay to ship it back if you choose to have no maintenance done.
I recommend making sure your power is good (5V+) and clean (no AC Ripple) from the power supply if you can.
Once your board is up and running
Test Cycle: Each board is run for a minimum 3 days (30+ hours!)
Day 1:
- Board powered on for 12-14 hours
- Play intermittently
- Make sure there are no resets (Tested by leaving board coined up)
Day 2:
- Hot / cold power cycle testing
- Power on board for 30 minutes, power off for 60 minutes
- Repeat 16 times (full 24 hour test cycle)
- Goal is to shake out any weak components from power on/off and warming and cooling
- I’ve programmed a home automation smart outlet to perform this testing.
Day 3:
- Wait 3-4 days and perform one more power on test for 12-14 hours
- Longer resting time has on occasion brought out some last minute failures
- Play intermittently
- Make sure there are no resets (Tested by leaving board coined up)
Prior to shipping, each game has a custom checklist:
- Test all inputs and outputs
- Game controls
- Cocktail mode (when possible)
- LED’s
- Coin & Coin lockouts
My plan is to have your board fail in my shop and not in your machine!
I try to keep no more than 10-20 repairs in the shop at a time. My goal is to turn around repairs within 4-5 weeks. I will not have your boards for months with no end in sight. If it is going to take longer – I will tell you up front. I prefer to overcommunicate and you will know the status of the repair process.
A video of the board up and running is sent once completed.
All repairs guaranteed for 90 days. All repairs shipped insured.
If warranty is needed, you pay shipping to me, I’ll pay shipping back.
Note: Boards received with extensive prior work without prior knowledge may result in additional charges that would be reviewed prior to starting repairs.
Minimum Charge: $25 – I occasionally receive working boards. Even working I end up with 1+ hours into them. Unpackaging, checking, repackaging and shipping.

For the lowest shipping costs:
Print your own labels using: https://www.pirateship.com/ By far the lease expensive way to ship packages and simple to use. It’s free. I do not have a business interest in Pirateship – I’m just trying to help reduce your shipping cost.
Packaging:
Most PCBs fit the best in a 24″x14″x4″ box – I use these when needed.
If you go to the UPS Store – ask them to use a box of this size. Anything much bigger and their price goes way up due to oversized box shipping.
If you can get one, the USPS Gamebox is a good size 24-1/16”(L)x 11-7/8”(W) x 3-1/4”(H). It was a large flat rate box – but is no longer available new. USPS still allows them to be used as large flat rate packages.
