Star Trek S.O.S – Cabinet History

This particular Star Trek S.O.S. has history beyond most and it’s why preservation was really important to me. It was part of the 1986 Star Trek Convention in Anaheim California on June 21st, 1986. Below are pics of autographs on the side art. The convention was a little before the release of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (November 26, 1986).

I picked up the cabinet from a Star Trek fan/collector vs. an arcade collector. He also had the Bally Star Trek Pinball machine – but that was moving with him to North Carolina. I’ve been a fan since I was a kid and the original series was my favorite of all the TV series’.

Gene Roddenberry – Creator & Producer – need I say more?

Can’t make out the name below his..

Majel Barrett – Nurse Chapel – Married to Gene Roddenberry

Alexander Courage – Composer – Created the theme to Star Trek

Grace Lee Whitney – Yeoman Janice Rand

Mark Lenard – Sarek (Spock’s father)

Teresa E. Victor – Played a small role in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
She was Leonard Nimoy’s Personal assistant for 19 years.

No Idea… I hope it’s not ‘graffiti’…

This is really a one of a kind machine. I’m glad it found its way to me to be restored. I’d like to think I gave it some of my best effort to maintain it’s integrity.

Shop cleaned, ready for the next project.
